Job Description

Description:
The Yard Driver is responsible for safely moving equipment around the yard, backing into dock doors, organizing equipment placement, and supporting warehouse and transportation operations. This position requires strong attention to safety, communication, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Safely move equipment in and out of dock doors and designated yard locations. Perform trailer switches as needed for loading, unloading, and staging. Communicate with warehouse supervisors, loaders, and dispatch regarding equipment needs. Inspect equipment before moving, including checking doors, seals, landing gear, and general condition. Maintain an organized yard and ensure equipment is parked safely and correctly. Follow all company safety procedures while operating yard truck equipment. Assist with checking trailer temperatures, seals, and paperwork when needed. Report equipment issues, damage, safety concerns, or problems immediately. Support warehouse operations as needed during downtime. Maintain regular attendance and follow the assigned schedule
Requirements:
Prior yard driver, CDL, truck driving, or trailer backing experience preferred. Ability to safely back and maneuver trailers and other equipment in tight areas. Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to communicate clearly with warehouse and transportation staff. Ability to follow instructions, company policies, and safety procedures.
