Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Yard Jockey - CDL operates diesel powered tractor trailer combination, bringing trailers to and from loading docks, to and from the yard and/or to and from Plants, to be loaded and unloaded. 3rd Shift Shift Available
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to pre and post trip equipment Ability to lift 60lbs. Ability to work 11+ hours per day. Must be willing to become certified to operate a forklift. Load and unload mods/stacks utilizing forklift as required. Must be able to follow instructions, be very flexible and work within a team environment. Ability to determine next step processes when plant situations occur.
IE:
downtime. Report any major vehicle problems (i.e. mechanical failures, damage to truck/trailer) immediately to Garage Manager/Foreman and any accidents to the Safety Manager. Maintains vehicle(s) in a neat appearance inside and outside. Prep Live trailers for unloading and reloading prior to being docked. i.e., curtains, barndoors, roof, straps etc. (Assist your teammates). Move loaded Live Trailers from Designated area to Live Receiving for processing. Move empty Live Trailers from Live Receiving to yard. Stage empty Live trailers for reloading. Prep the Live Trailers after reloaded with empty mods/stacks.
ie:
curtains, barndoors, roof, straps etc. (Assist your teammates). Transfer Tankers from yard to plant and plant to yard as required. Weigh Tankers empty and loaded as required. Must be willing to work at all plant locations if needed. Must be willing to accept schedule changes as the business requires us to do so.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Previous experience is preferred, but not required for this position . No formal education is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak English, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
