This role involves working closely with the driver to load and unload waste materials, ensuring efficient and safe trash collection. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and familiarity with various types of trucks and equipment used in commercial waste management. Responsibilities Assist the driver in operating rear loader trucks, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds as needed Load and unload waste materials manually, ensuring proper placement within the truck for optimal capacity Perform heavy lifting of trash bags, bins, and other waste containers throughout the work shift Support vehicle safety checks and routine maintenance tasks before and after routes Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during loading and unloading processes Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure proper disposal of waste materials at designated sites Assist with securing loads during transport to prevent spillage or accidents Skills Mechanical knowledge related to truck operation and maintenance Experience with front loader, rear loader, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or flatbeds is preferred Strong driving skills, including experience with commercial driving and manual transmission vehicles Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Delivery driver experience or familiarity with load & unload procedures is advantageous Knowledge of safety procedures related to waste collection operations Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks consistently

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
