Job Description

Yard Truck Driver/Laborer Company Overview Nicholas Enterprises, Inc. has been providing material handling and storage services since 1902 and has been involved in the river transportation industry for over 65 years. We have a proud tradition of providing superior rail, truck, barge, and warehouse facilities in the Port of Pittsburgh and central PA regions. Our Freeport Terminal (FTI) is a full-service intermodal facility featuring barge, rail, and truck offload and reload capabilities located in Freeport, Pennsylvania on the Allegheny River. This all-product facility offers specialization in both liquid and dry bulk handling, storage, and processing. FTI sits on 35-acres with significant bulk commodity storage as well as under-roof warehousing. We also have eight million gallons in liquid bulk storage available for truck to tank, to barge transfers and vice versa. Job Description Freeport Terminals, Inc. is seeking an individual to assist in the loading and unloading of barges, railcars, and trucks. You will be working outside year-round. We require punctual employees who have reliable transportation. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and willingness to help with whatever tasks are required. Job Requirements and Qualifications Perform all work considering Company standards, procedures, requirements, and safety rules Aid in loading and offloading material to and from barges, railcars, and trucks Assist in operating and maintaining equipment daily Report equipment safety issues immediately upon inspection Work as a team to develop a safe and clean work environment Always ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence Maintain and use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Willingness to help with whatever tasks are required Must be able to pass a drug test and remain drug free Must have reliable transportation Requires a hardworking, self-motivated individual with a good attitude who can think quickly to accomplish any task at hand Previous experience running a truck and heavy equipment is preferred Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Must be able to work in rigorous outdoor elements year round Must be able to work independently and with other team members Compensation and Benefits Competitive wages based on experience Health coverage Paid time off, vacation and holidays 401k program with company matching assistance 90-day introduction period
