Job Overview We are seeking a professional Pilot to join our team We're looking for reliable, safety‑minded individuals to escort oversized loads across regional and interstate routes. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to manage loading and unloading tasks. The Pilot will play a vital role in maintaining high customer service standards while adhering to all safety regulations and route schedules. Must HAVE a CURRENT Pilot Car Certification Responsibilities Key Duties of a Pilot Car Escort Driver Route guidance: Drive ahead or behind the oversized load to warn of upcoming hazards, sharp turns, or narrow roads.
Traffic control:
Alert other motorists to the presence of a large, slow-moving vehicle and help prevent accidents.
Communication:
Maintain constant radio contact with the truck driver and other pilots to relay information about road conditions, traffic, or obstacles.
Safety checks:
Ensure compliance with state regulations, including proper signage, flags, and lights on both the escort and the truck.
Coordination:
Work with law enforcement or transportation officials when loads require special permits or escorts through restricted areas.
Public protection:
Prevent damage to infrastructure (like bridges or power lines) by monitoring clearances and warning of risks.
Skills Attention to detail:
Spotting hazards quickly is critical.
Strong communication:
Clear radio instructions keep the haul safe.
Knowledge of regulations:
Each state has specific rules for escorting oversized loads.
Calm under pressure:
Long hours and stressful traffic situations demand steady focus.
Physical fitness:
Staying alert over extended drives is essential. Ability to navigate routes efficiently using GPS or route planning tools Valid driver's license with a clean driving record This position offers an engaging work environment where safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction are prioritized.
