Job Description
West Cocalico Township is seeking a full-time Road Crew member in the Public Works Department. This position reports to the Roadmaster and works 40 hours per week within the Township with some overtime and on-call hours. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: performing construction and various asphalt repairs on Township roads, shoveling and plowing snow, salting streets, assisting in maintaining roadways and green spaces, monitoring of the water system, tree trimming, operating pickup truck, dump truck, backhoe/loader, mowers, chain saw and other equipment as assigned. Ability to legally operate motor vehicles, ability to work outdoors in all types of extreme weather conditions. The successful applicant will have a valid CDL or be willing and able to obtain one. Snow plow experience is important. Pipe laying, asphalt work experience or mechanical training is a plus. Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and must have the ability to deal tactfully with the public and other employees. Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Must have a valid PA Drivers License.
