Commercial Drivers License A Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport equipment across various routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including trailers, flatbeds, and dump trucks, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks with automatic transmissions, including trailers, dump truck and pickups Load and unload freight efficiently using equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, mechanical condition, and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines while adapting to traffic or weather conditions. Deliver freight accurately across assigned routes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, inspections, deliveries Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries, providing excellent customer service throughout the process. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license, including route driving and delivery operations. Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks Strong understanding of freight handling procedures for load & unload operations across different truck types. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment like forklifts safely when required for loading or unloading cargo. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance with traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting heavy loads and performing vehicle inspections comfortably.
