• Part-time, Full-time Wild Sods of Maine is looking for a Driver Loader to join our team.

Responsibilities Safely operate and drive a 26' Box Truck in an air-conditioned truck 2-4 days a week. Drive truck from Winslow, ME home base to Forests and Lands (1.5-3 hr. drive) Assist with loading Wild Sods onto pallets with crew in Forest. (2-3 hrs.) Operate E-pallet jack, and other equipment as needed. Drive fully loaded truck (up to 34,000 pounds) out of forest and back to home base in Winslow, ME. Be occasional back-up Delivery Driver to deliver load to Nurseries or Landscaping sites in Maine or New England states (day trips). Needed for forest run, load & return 2-3 days / week. Back-up Delivery Driver needed 1-2 x a week to once every other week. Hired driver will do both. Perform pre-trip inspection of 26' Box Truck to ensure that it is in good working order and that no damage has occurred. Comply with all rules and regulations of the truck driving job, as well as with company policies and procedures. Communicate with dispatch about time sensitive deliveries or re-loadings. Follow directions from dispatch and respond to requests for assistance (such as when needed). Follow safety guidelines. If need Full-time employment and willing to do physical work outdoors, independently in the forest, you can also be a sod harvester when not driving. Pays well (by the square foot of sod harvested) if you can handle physical labor. If have other skills, such as auto / truck repair, welding, construction, additional hours can be added doing these as well Skills Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more. Ability to work in an outdoor environment in Forest while loading. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly. Ability to work in teams or independently. Must have experience driving fully loaded and heavy 26' trucks. CDL, Class B Required. Must be available when needed Monday
