Essential Job Functions 1. Examine load for safety and chain the load down. May require climbing on top of load to secure chains. 2. Safely deliver steel to job site driving an 18 wheel flat bed tractor trailer. 3. Report any hazards / accidents immediately to your supervisor. 4. After arriving at job site, unchain and wait for load to be unloaded. 5. Keep truck fueled and clean. Inspect truck and trailer for safety issues (lights, tires, etc.). 6. Complete log books for DOT purposes. 7. Complete trip reports to record highways and mileage. 8. Performs other duties as required by management. General approximation of travel time as a percent of work time: 85%.

Qualifications and Requirements Required:

High school education or equivalent. Class "A" CDL is required. Must have a clean driving record. Must be able to back trailer into tight spots. Must meet DOT physical and mental requirements. Requires high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of tractor trailer and in preventing damage to materials and trailer equipment. Must be able to read a tape measure to the 16th.

Preferred:

Two or more years experience driving flat bed trailers. SteelFab of VA, Inc. is a part of the EECO.

Pay:

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
