Job Description

Job Summary:
To provide alcohol/drug counseling assessments for clients referred from the RI DMV, Operator Control Division. This service is offered as part of the Driver Improvement Program under the college's Division of Workforce Partnerships, Transportation Education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet with assigned clients and assess each utilizing the approved standardized assessment. Refer clients to treatment on an as needed basis and according to the results of the approved standardized assessment. When making referrals to treatment, work with clients to select a substance abuse treatment agency that is licensed by RIBHDDH. Engage in high-quality assessment in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment and the ability to work with students with various cultures, identifies, and life-experiences. Use technology to communicate effectively with students and colleagues and complete program record keeping and reporting requirements. Accurately maintain attendance and assessment records in accordance with program policies and submit written reports of pertinent information to the Program Coordinator. Collaborate with others and offer feedback regarding other program components as needed. Attend in-service training, program meetings and other program-related events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Licenses, Tools and Equipment:
Proficiency in classroom and administrative technology. Must have access to and use of own transportation.
Minimum Requirments:
Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional/Supervisor (LCDP/S) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Minimum two (2) years' experience working in a licensed agency. Minimum two (2) years' experience performing drug or alcohol assessments and counseling in a professional setting. Familiarity with a variety of standardized assessment instruments. A valid Rhode Island operator's license with no conviction for any felony or misdemeanor (e.g. driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs) for a period of not less than five (5) years immediately preceding the date of application Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues Outstanding communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Work collaboratively with students and colleagues Ability to utilize technology to support program-related activities such as correspondence with coordinator, accessing client information, etc. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English and Spanish) Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or its equivalent from an accredited institution of higher education; Master's Degree in Counseling Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of any employment visa including student visas.
