Local CDL Class A Truck Driver

Job Overview I am looking for a current CDL class A driver for my single axle dump truck. You will be home every day and work Monday through Friday servicing the greater Knoxville area. Based out of Alcoa and service Blount, Knox and Loudon counties delivering landscape materials such as rock, topsoil, mulch and other bulk commodities. Most jobs are in tight quarters and require precision backing so as not to destroy the customers property. Smoke free workplace and must be able to drive a manual transmission. Duties Safely operate trucks with manual transmissions across designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight using a skid steer or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling. Transport a variety of freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, report any issues promptly, and maintain compliance with DOT regulations. Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times while minimizing fuel consumption and vehicle wear. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any incidents encountered on the road. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with company policies. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers. Proficiency in driving manual transmission trucks is required. Knowledge of route driving best practices for local deliveries and adherence to safety protocols.
