Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Transfer Station Operator and become a vital part of our waste management and recycling operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the transfer station, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring the safe and smooth flow of materials. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of machinery and contribute to community sanitation efforts while developing valuable skills in heavy equipment operation. Duties Operate loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to load, unload, and transport waste materials safely and efficiently. Manage heavy equipment to sort, transfer, and stage waste or recyclable materials at the station. Perform routine cleaning of the transfer station area to maintain safety standards and environmental compliance. Assist with the collection and disposal of waste by coordinating with sanitation teams and ensuring proper handling procedures. Conduct inspections of equipment before use to ensure safety and operational readiness. Support heavy lifting tasks using appropriate machinery or manual techniques to move bulky or heavy items. Maintain accurate records of material movements, equipment usage, and safety checks in compliance with company policies. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or similar machinery. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual labor in all weather conditions. Knowledge of sanitation procedures, waste management practices, and environmental safety standards. Strong attention to safety protocols when operating machinery like front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, or garbage trucks. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Prior experience in manufacturing or related industries involving heavy equipment operation is a plus. Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed. Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
