Job Description

CDL-A Heavy Haul / Lowboy Driver - Night Shift Overview Grade A Construction is seeking an experienced CDL-A Heavy Haul / Lowboy Driver - Night Shift to join our growing team. This role is responsible for safely transporting heavy construction equipment, machinery, and materials between active job sites throughout Middle Tennessee. The ideal candidate has experience hauling equipment in a construction environment, understands load securement and DOT compliance, and takes pride in operating safely and efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate CDL-A tractor and lowboy trailer to transport construction equipment and materials to and from project sites. Load, unload, secure, and transport heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, skid steers, compactors, and other site construction equipment. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain equipment in safe operating condition. Ensure all loads meet DOT requirements for weight distribution, securement, permits, and safe transport practices. Coordinate with dispatch, superintendents, and field teams regarding delivery schedules and site access. Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation. Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations. Assist with route planning and navigating oversized or specialized loads when required. Represent Grade A professionally on customer and project sites. Qualifications Valid CDL-A license Clean driving record and ability to meet insurability requirements Experience hauling heavy construction equipment preferred Experience operating lowboy trailers strongly preferred Knowledge of load securement, equipment tie-down procedures, and DOT regulations Ability to safely maneuver in active construction environments Ability to work night shift hours Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pay:
$26.00 - $29.00 per hour
