Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring smooth and safe driving across diverse routes. Load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment, handling a variety of cargo including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Drive route-specific deliveries, managing schedules to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to all safety regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Secure loads properly for transport, verifying weight distribution and safety measures before departure. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with federal regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues promptly. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver experience with various types of freight. Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling specialized trailers such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly preferred. Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary. Strong knowledge of route driving best practices and safety protocols on the road. Physical ability to perform load securement tasks and handle freight that may require lifting or maneuvering heavy items.
