Yard Operator / Wacker Operator

Pay:

$17.00 - $17.50 per hour Yard Operator / Wacker Operator We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Operator / Wacker Operator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility by coordinating trailer movements, supporting production operations, and ensuring the yard remains organized and safe.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a wacker/yard truck (terminal tractor) to move trailers through scales and position them in designated staging areas. Stage trailers for production to support operational efficiency. Keep log trailers loaded and prepared for transportation and movement. Supply materials to two shaver lines to maintain continuous production. Monitor yard operations and assist with material flow throughout the plant. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment. Conduct basic equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Previous experience operating a wacker truck, yard truck, terminal tractor, Ottawa truck, or similar heavy equipment preferred. Ability to safely maneuver trailers and equipment in a busy industrial environment. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Strong attention to safety and detail. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
