Position Overview Our client is seeking a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Truck Driver to join their transportation team in Dalhart, TX. This position is responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and commercial vehicles while transporting freight across assigned routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage freight transportation activities efficiently while maintaining compliance with all DOT and transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities Freight Transportation & Delivery Safely operate CDL Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and other assigned equipment Transport freight across designated routes while maintaining delivery schedules Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while providing professional customer service Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies Loading, Unloading & Cargo Management Load and unload freight safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment when required Secure cargo properly to ensure safe transportation and load stability Verify load accuracy and inspect freight before departure and upon delivery Follow proper freight handling procedures to prevent damage during transit Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Identify and report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition Complete required inspection and maintenance documentation Communication & Documentation Maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, route status, and operational updates Report delays, incidents, or transportation issues promptly Accurately complete driver logs, trip reports, delivery documentation, and compliance records Ensure all required transportation records remain current and accurate Safety & Regulatory Compliance Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations Maintain compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) requirements Practice safe driving techniques and defensive driving principles Support a culture of safety and professionalism throughout daily operations Required Qualifications Valid CDL Class A License Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements Experience operating tractor-trailers and commercial freight vehicles Ability to safely load, unload, and secure freight Strong communication and organizational skills Clean driving record and commitment to workplace safety Preferred Qualifications Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment Prior freight transportation and route delivery experience Experience with load securement and cargo handling procedures Familiarity with transportation documentation and electronic logging systems Compensation & Benefits 401(k) Health Insurance Fuel Card Paid Orientation Paid Training Career growth opportunities Why Join Our Client Stable full-time opportunity with a growing transportation company Supportive and safety-focused work environment Paid training and onboarding assistance Opportunity to build a long-term career in transportation and logistics Competitive compensation with growth potential based on experience
