Construction CDL Dump Truck Driver

This position is driving a dump truck for our ROW Construction Division. It requires a Class A CDL drivers license with a clean record for the past three years. There may be additional hauling of equipment between locations and job sites. This position is out of town, 7-11 days out, with our construction crews. As this position is considered 'out of town' it will require travel around Texas and neighboring states. We provide hotel and per diem. We pay overtime for any hours worked over 40 hours per week. Position Main Responsibilities:

Driving a dump truck. Hauling equipment, materials and supplies. Conduct Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections. Exercise good customer service when required to Interact with customers. Report mechanical issues with the truck to the appropriate shop personnel. Keep truck and all associated equipment clean and in good working order. Manage logs and records as per DOT regulations. Inspect freight and vehicle for compliance with regulations. Report accidents and violations.

Requirements:

Class A CDL Driver's License. Clear Motor vehicle record (MVR). Verifiable previous 2 year driving employment History. Ability to work with time restraints and deadlines. High School Diploma or GED required. The ability to balance multiple tasks, along with strong communication skills is essential. Detail oriented with focus on results. Must be able to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions :

The overall nature of this position requires to be outdoors most of the time, with some physical exertion with physical effort frequently required. Driver must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a truck/vehicle. The frequent physical demands of the position are being able to lift 25-50 lbs. Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and eye/hand/foot coordination. The occasional physical demands of the position are talking, hearing and repetitive hand motions. This position requires more than just driving, some labor work is required.
