Full Job Description Description:
Position Overview The Driver (Class A/B Driver) will be the person responsible to deliver, unload and stock merchandise along with his/her assigned stoker(s) following the proper safety guidelines on different job sites. This person must be able to lift weight, walk stairs while lifting material, be able to recognize inventory and be comfortable helping customers and coworkers to assure material is properly stocked and customer is satisfied. Essential Job Functions Preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle Filling out Inspection Reports daily. Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes Have full knowledge of inventory to assure correct material is loaded before leaving warehouse Responding to and deal with customer communication by following ticket instructions No incorrect material on deliveries Maintain constant communication with stockers to avoid errors Mark discrepancies on ticket to take back to Logistics Department before leaving jobsite Stock material following ticket instructions Turn in complete paperwork to Logistics Department daily Take proper safety tools and supplies to every jobsite Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and stocker to improve overall delivery service Attend monthly warehouse meetings to review opportunities for efficiency within the shipping and delivery process Complete logs and reports Follow DOT regulations and safety standards Communicate with Safety Manager when necessary Report work injuries the same day they occur Report absences in advance to supervisor to help coordinate daily deliveries Demonstrate a positive attitude to show customers their business is appreciated General Warehouse Duties when not driving -
Housekeeping and Stocking Requirements:
Requirements Valid class A or B driver's license required (required type is based on assigned truck) Knowledge of safety procedures Ability to write discrepancies on tickets Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to adhere to established material delivery guidelines Capability of executing all tasks safely and efficiently Excellent customer service ability Must have own transportation to and from work Bilingual - Spanish• May be waived
