Job Description

Job Description Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Truck Driver (CDL). A Truck Driver is responsible for but, not limited to, transporting equipment and/or materials within Collin County and supporting the Public Works department. Work is performed under the direction of the Foreman. Schedule Currently, drivers work Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm with Saturday and Sunday off. Primary Functions Transporting building materials and equipment to various locations within the County. Operating light equipment by driving rollers, backhoes, loaders, and other equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roads. Maintaining County vehicles and equipment by inspecting safety fluid levels, filling fuel levels, ensuring the proper operation of electrical systems, monitoring tire pressure and tread wear, and cleaning debris from inner and outer surfaces. Maintaining shop area, installs and maintains culverts, removes trees and shrubs, and controls traffic while on site. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualification Must have the knowledge to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class A CDL Driver's License. Must have at least one (1) year of experience. Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school. Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
