Full Job Description Job Scope:
The duties and responsibilities of the Driver include driving residents to and from scheduled appointments using a company van, car, and/or bus.
Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary driver for whatever transportation is needed. Manages time and location to accommodate resident appointments. Works with other Drivers and System Coordinator to maximize efficiency in transportation services. Maintains vehicles with documents, fluids, filters, tires, brakes, windshield wipers, and safety devices. Maintains lifts and straps used to secure residents and wheelchairs during transportation. Reports all vehicle damage and deficiencies to the Systems Coordinator or supervisor. Driving assignments are generally Monday through Friday but the occasional weekend or Communicates with residents, medical, office personnel, and the general public regarding transportation needs and requirements. Keeps up to date on all required and in-service training. Maintains confidentiality and privacy of community/resident records and communicates with dignity and respect. Routinely checks the schedule for possible changes. Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions that assist others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors. Seek out and perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
Compassion for and desire to work with seniors! 6 months preferred with no more than one moving violation within the last 3 years. Valid Driver's license CDL, where applicable. Demonstrates the ability to perform generally acceptable driving maneuvers applicable to the respective vehicles used.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, Walking, sitting, Use hands and fingers to handle or feel, Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, Talk or hear, vision due to computer work.
Ability to lift:
Up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, or vendors, Occasional weekend, holiday, evening, or night work is needed to ensure shift coverage. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections, exposure to Latex. Requires regular, predictable attendance. The Community is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
