Load Type:
Majority Overweight / Specialized Oilfield Equipment Position Overview The DOS Oilfield Driver is responsible for transporting oilfield equipment safely and efficiently for multiple customers across Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Drivers also support occasional long‑distance assignments to states such as Ohio, North Dakota, and Colorado. Most loads are overweight and require strict adherence to DOT regulations, permit routing, and company safety standards. This role offers the opportunity for CDL Drivers to earn high income in fewer working days compared to traditional CDL positions, while working alongside a skilled team of professional drivers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate manual‑transmission tractor‑trailers and commercial vehicles between oilfield locations, including wellsites, pads, yards, and mechanic shops. Safely haul and maneuver various trailer types such as Frac Pumps, Flatbeds, Step‑Decks, Data Vans, and other specialized oilfield equipment . Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation laws, including DOT and FMCSA regulations. Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness. Maintain accurate logs, delivery documentation, BOLs, and ELD entries for each trip. Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while following permit requirements and designated routing for overweight loads. Assist with proper load securement using chains, binders, straps, and other equipment to prevent shifting or damage. Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding job status, delays, site conditions, or equipment issues. Work collaboratively with a crew of CDL Drivers to complete multi‑truck or coordinated moves. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Experience in truck driving, including route driving, freight delivery, and load/unload operations. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles (no automatic restriction preferred). Experience with multiple trailer types used in oilfield operations. Ability to operate and maintain compliance using E‑Logs . Strong understanding of commercial driving safety protocols and freight‑handling procedures. Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and customer service. Physical ability to perform inspections, secure loads, climb on equipment, and work outdoors in varying conditions. Knowledge of permit routing and requirements for overweight/oversize loads.
