Richmond, TX Job Details Part-time $10 - $12 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Customer communication Outdoor work Customer service High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Full Job Description Overview Join our compassionate team as an Adult Day Care Transportation Driver and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of our participants. In this position, you will provide door-to-door transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities attending our Day Activity and Health Services (DAHS) program. Your commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service will help participants arrive comfortably and on time while supporting their independence and well-being. Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport participants to and from the Adult Day Care center according to established schedules and routes. Assist participants with boarding and exiting vehicles, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, or other mobility devices. Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment in accordance with safety regulations. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable vehicle environment. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company transportation policies and procedures. Provide courteous and respectful customer service to participants, family members, caregivers, and staff. Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and incident reports as required. Communicate route changes, delays, participant concerns, or emergencies to the Transportation Coordinator or Center Director. Assist with participant attendance verification and ensure participants are safely released to authorized caregivers when applicable. Follow emergency procedures and respond appropriately to accidents, medical emergencies, or other transportation-related incidents. Qualifications and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record. Previous experience transporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, or healthcare clients preferred. Experience operating passenger vans, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, or paratransit vehicles is highly desirable. Ability to safely assist participants with mobility needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lift and maneuver wheelchairs and mobility equipment safely. Knowledge of defensive driving techniques and passenger safety procedures. Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, bend, and assist participants during boarding and exiting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and secure wheelchairs and mobility devices. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while assisting participants. Work Environment Operates company vehicles on local routes. Regular interaction with elderly individuals and adults with disabilities. Requires a professional appearance, patience, and a caring attitude toward participants and families. Preferred Qualifications CPR/First Aid Certification. Defensive Driving Certification. Experience working in healthcare, transportation, senior services, or adult day care settings.
