Position Type:

Independent Contractor / Owner-Operator Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and professional Class A CDL Hotshot Owner-Operator to haul and deliver lumber and building materials throughout the San Antonio and Austin markets, with occasional deliveries to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Drivers must provide their own truck, trailer, insurance, and operating equipment. Fuel expenses are paid by the company. Responsibilities Safely transport lumber and building materials to customers and job sites. Properly secure all loads in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures when required. Communicate effectively regarding pickup, delivery, and scheduling updates. Deliver freight safely, professionally, and on time. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company positively. Requirements Valid Class A CDL. Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred. Must own and operate a reliable hotshot truck and trailer. Current DOT medical card. Active commercial auto liability and cargo insurance. Clean driving record with no major violations. Ability to safely secure and transport lumber and other building materials. Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Ability to lift, climb, and perform load securement duties as needed. Equipment Requirements ¾-ton or 1-ton truck in safe operating condition. 30-40 ft gooseneck trailer (or equivalent suitable for lumber hauling). Straps, chains, binders, edge protectors, tarps, and all required load securement equipment. Smartphone capable of receiving dispatches and submitting documents. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay structure. Fuel provided/paid by company. Consistent freight opportunities. Home every night. Weekly settlements available. Schedule Monday through Friday (some weekend work may be available). Local and regional routes. Most deliveries within San Antonio and Austin, with occasional Dallas/Fort Worth runs.
