This role involves operating various types of trucks to deliver lumber and building materials efficiently and safely to residential and commercial locations. Responsibilities Safely operate bobtails, tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles, including manual transmission trucks, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations. Transport freight across assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the integrity of the cargo. Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards. Collaborate with dispatchers and yard personnel to coordinate route planning and delivery schedules. Ensure proper documentation for load & unload procedures and maintain professionalism during customer interactions. Skills Have knowledge of lumber & building materials. Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery; familiarity with route driving is essential. Proficiency in driving manual transmission trucks. Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols. Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual methods while maintaining safety standards. Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan optimal routes for timely deliveries. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
Pay:
From $22.00 per hour
