In this energetic role, you'll operate specialized hydro excavation equipment to safely and efficiently expose underground utilities, dig trenches, and perform site clean-up. Your expertise will help ensure projects stay on schedule while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operates hydrovac truck and related equipment, including boom, hose, water pressure controls, and vacuum systems. Performs daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, documents findings, and reports defects promptly. Follows all operating procedures to prevent equipment damage, line strikes, and environmental incidents. Leads the on‑site crew (including swampers/laborers where assigned), delegating tasks and monitoring safety and productivity. Conducts or participates actively in JSAs/tailgate meetings and ensures crew understands the plan and hazards. Ensures proper setup of work area including traffic control, signage, and barricades as required. Executes work according to scope, drawings, and customer directions, while adhering to SOPs and tolerance zone rules. Adjusts methods as needed to address field conditions while maintaining safety and quality standards. Ensures the site is left clean and orderly upon completion of work. Acts as primary on‑site contact for the customer, communicating progress,issues, and any required changes in scope. Completes job tickets, timesheets, and other required documentation accurately Ensures all crew members follow PPE requirements, safe work practices, and environmental controls. Immediately reports incidents, near misses, or hazards to the Field Supervisor and participates in investigations. Obtains customer sign‑off and communicates any change orders or unforeseen issues to the Field Supervisor and Operations. Qualifications

• Experience operating hydrovac or similar heavy equipment in field conditions.
• Valid driver's license and any required(as applicable).
• Strong safety mindset and familiarity with excavation, utility locating, and traffic control practices.
