Hampton, VA Job Details Full-time $22 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Automobile transportation Customer communication CDL A Driver's License Manual transmission Full Job Description Position Summary Safely and efficiently operate assigned transportation equipment in the pick-up and delivery of donated goods and designated items. Adhere to all organizational and DOT policies and procedures. Essential Duties (Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.) 1. Completes pre-trip inspections and notify management team of any equipment issues or concerns. 2. Follows all government (DOT) and organizational safety regulations. 3. Ensures all required paperwork and updates are communicated to the Dispatcher or designee. 4. Safely, accurately and efficiently ensures loads are secure before transport, following all route assignments and all items are delivered to the correct destination. 5. Must be able to work independently without the need for close, direct supervision. 6. Exercises good judgement in behaviors and communication, providing outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Supervisory Responsibilities The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience. 1 year experience in a related field required. No professional certifications are required for this position. CDL-A required. Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required. The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check. A minimum of 1 year verifiable accident free CDL-A driving experience required. Ability to proficiently drive a manual transmission truck required. Information Privacy and Security This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill Privacy policy 10.23 related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI. Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The associate works in an environment with frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
