Class A CDL Delivery Driver

Delivery drivers fulfill an important role in the success of the company, working under the direction and supervision of the Lumber Yard Manager to ensure that materials are delivered to the appropriate job sites, for retail and construction customers, throughout the Stoneburner service area. This includes operating a Moffett forklift and/carrying in materials as needed. Drivers play a significant role in meeting company goals related to picking up and delivering equipment and materials according to schedule. A Delivery Driver/CDL role requires the operation of multi-axle highway equipment with GVWR in excess of 26,001 pounds for transporting construction equipment and/or materials. Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for the safe delivery of building materials; from lumber to cabinets. Ultimately responsible for the security of loads and job site decisions to ensure safe operations. Requires significant physical labor

• This is not a typical driving job.

You will be required to hand carry material into buildings as needed. When not driving, will help pick and pack orders on the lumberyard. May load or assist with loading and appropriately securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle. Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site. Maneuvers vehicles into loading or unloading positions and ensures that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Unloads materials safely and accurately. Takes all precautions to protect the product and the customer's property. Verifies order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage and locations of deliveries. Checks items against invoice to ensure order accuracy. Acts as a customer service liaison between the company and the site customer. Handles customer concerns and helps resolve issues as they arise. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles; performs routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines. Maintain hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures. May perform credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork. Operate a Forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials to designated areas. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. • High School diploma or equivalent. Experience
• At least 1 year of commercial vehicle driving experience. Additional Skills or Requirements
• Must meet all Federal D.O.T. regulations for drivers; possess a Class A commercial license with proper endorsements. D.M.V. record must not have more than
• 1) demerit.
