Job Summary Are you looking to join a positive and enthusiastic team! Cota & Cota is a third generation, family owned home heating fuels and service company. We are currently in our 85th year of business and continuing to grow. We are looking for a reliable, responsible team player who our customers and team members can depend on. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Transport Driver CDL A to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport heating fuels. The position is local and involves only day trips (no overnights). Our farthest one-way trip is 99 miles and does not require electronic log books. How would you like to work for one of the leaders in the heating fuels business? This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills and contribute to efficient logistics operations in a fast-paced environment. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling Drive a variety of trailer types including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, and roll-off trucks to deliver goods efficiently Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security to prevent accidents or delays Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving challenges effectively Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in compliance with regulatory standards Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial driving environments Demonstrated proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks, 5 years of commercial driving/hauling is required Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC Clearance Diploma or GED and proficient in english Prior experience as a heating fuel delivery driver or truck driver within heat is highly preferred Ability to load & unload heating fuel safely Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving tractor-trailers and handling different cargo types including hazardous materials Strong route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions on the road Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and perform vehicle inspections regularlyJoin us as a Transport Driver CDL A and become an essential part of our logistics team! Although we have 8 office locations, this position is based out of Bellows Falls, Vermont and requires you to live within a reasonable commuting distance. We do offer various off season driving, landscaping, construction and maintenance work for year round employment.
