This position also requires the completion of bill of ladings and daily truck inspection reports.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Check in with the port dispatch hourly Perform daily driver's vehicle inspection/maintenance Verify correct shipments are loaded and unloaded Make sure documentation is correct Assists in solving problems and addressing customer needs Make sure containers/crates are marked properly, and damage free Deliver and pick up all shipments in a safe prompt manner Maintain/organize trucks and supplies Maintain customer relationships
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must lift up to 75 pounds Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions Must be able to sit in long lines at the port and stay alert Hook/unhook containers, crank up/down landing gear Open/Close container doors
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High School Diploma or equivalent, driver's license/CDL, effective communication skills, friendly and outgoing personality, organizational skills, and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently Communicate politely and positively with all Customers via phone, face to face Maintain production pace and utilize equipment used to perform duties Must be able to back trailer into tight spaces Be knowledgeable of all port safety and operational procedures Must be able to read a map, understand DOT regulations, valid medical card, and a current TWIC card Qualified applicants must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen Required to wear company uniform
Pay:
$29.50 - $35.00 per hour
