Responsibilities:
Job Description Essential Duties:
Operates a Class 8 truck with tandem drive, drop axle and 5th wheel pulling a 53 foot tri-axle walking floor trailer for the transport of refuse from the transfer station to the landfill. Operates a variety of other equipment including, front-end loaders, forklifts, water trucks and wood grinder. Performs daily start up vehicle inspection, operational checks and maintenance activities and reports repairs as needed. Interacts with the public to ensure safety within the transfer station and landfill areas. Applies appropriate customer service techniques. Performs other duties as assigned.Experience and Training:
High School or (G.E.D.) AND five (5) years equipment operation, road maintenance and/or construction experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. (Note:

Washington State Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements. Consent for queries of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse to comply with Federal Regulations (49 CFR Part 382).Equipment Used:
Class 8 truck with tandem drive, drop axle and 5th wheel, 48-foot tri-axle walking floor trailer, front-end loader, forklifts, water trucks and wood grinder.Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily outdoors for extended periods and under unfavorable weather conditions.Requires:
excessive noise, exposure to weather, extreme temperatures, moving/mechanical parts, pathogen exposure, vibration, travel, multiple works locations, field work, bending, carrying, handling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reclining, hearing, smelling, talking, visual acuity, ability multitask, ability to work under pressure, ability to articulate and communicate information in conversations, ability to follow written instruction, ability to follow verbal instructions. Stooping, mobility, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions.Heavy Work:
Exerting up to or in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is performed out in the field performing maintenance and construction on roadways and infrastructures.Knowledge:
