Job Description
We are a family-owned and operated business headquartered in Columbus. We are seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join our team as Livestock Haulers. In this role, you will safely and efficiently transport livestock from farms to customers while ensuring animal welfare remains the highest priority. Team members operate company-provided trucks with 30-40 foot trailers and work closely with customers, farms, and fellow team members to ensure safe, timely, and professional deliveries. We are committed to your success. Experienced livestock haulers provide full training and ongoing support throughout the onboarding process. Position Overview This position is considered full-time with some scheduling flexibility. No weekend work is required, although occasional holiday work may be necessary. Compensation is variable based on availability, with typical weekly earnings ranging from $1,500-$2,000 per week. Employees are paid weekly. Benefits will be discussed during the interview process. Essential Responsibilities Safely transport livestock from farms to customers Prioritize animal welfare during loading, transportation, and unloading Operate company-provided truck and 30-40 foot trailer safely and professionally Conduct pre-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, including tires, fuel, oil, and overall equipment condition Conduct post-trip inspections, fueling, and identifying maintenance concerns Monitor livestock condition during transport to ensure safety and welfare standards are maintained Assist with loading and unloading livestock as needed Ensure all loads are properly secured and complete prior to transport Complete delivery forms and maintain accurate transportation records Observe and comply with applicable regulations and requirements Report equipment maintenance needs promptly Maintain excellent communication with customers and team members Follow all company standard operating procedures and safety expectations Maintain a clean driving record and excellent safety record Qualifications & Work Requirements Must be age 21 or older with a good driving record Current CDL Class A license preferred or willingness to obtain CDL A Experience driving a truck and gooseneck trailer with strong backing skills Ability to bend, crawl, and work in all weather conditions for short periods Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable using or willing to learn to use livestock handling tools such as a cattle prod and paddle Must possess a personal cell phone Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service skills Team-oriented mindset with willingness to ask for help and support others Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately Experience following standard operating procedures Stable work history preferred High School Diploma or GED preferred Professional experience working with large animals preferred Experience working outside of a climate-controlled environment preferred Additional Helpful Experience & Skills Experience handling livestock Agricultural or farming background Experience transporting trailers or equipment If you are looking for a career with a supportive team, steady work, and opportunities to grow, we encourage you to apply.
