Job Summary Arnold's Team of Service Companies is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Septic Driver / Septic Truck Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a vacuum-equipped septic truck to collect, transport, and dispose of septic waste in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate has experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably vacuum or septic trucks, and is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. This role requires strong attention to safety, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to complete routes efficiently and professionally. Responsibilities Safely operate a septic truck equipped with vacuum pumps and hoses. Collect, transport, and dispose of septic waste according to company procedures and environmental regulations. Locate and access septic tanks, waste containers, and disposal sites. Pump, clean, and empty septic tanks and waste storage containers. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies. Practice safe and defensive driving techniques at all times. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment. Complete routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of service calls, including location, date, time, and waste collected. Use an iPad or iPhone to log service calls and communicate with dispatch. Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors. Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety protocols. Participate in monthly safety and training meetings. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid CDL Class B or higher required. Clean driving record required. Tanker endorsement preferred. Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred. Experience in sanitation, waste management, septic service, or a related industry preferred. Experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment strongly preferred. Ability to perform basic truck and equipment inspections. Ability to troubleshoot minor issues with truck equipment and vacuum systems. Understanding of septic system components, pumping procedures, and disposal practices preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage a service route and complete work within scheduled timeframes. Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and professionalism. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, including cold, snow, rain, heat, and humidity. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull hoses and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday. Ability to climb in and out of the truck cab multiple times per shift. Ability to navigate uneven, muddy, wet, or slippery job sites. Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, secure hoses, and manage equipment connections. Sufficient visual and auditory ability to drive safely and recognize job site hazards. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
