Hours:

7am until end of route/tasks. 5 days a week. Average of about 6 hours per day or 30 hours per week throughout the season. Some days will be as high as 8 hours and others as low as 4 hours, depending on the time of year. McBride's Yard Waste is a locally owned and operated company partnered with the City of Laramie to provide a seasonal, curbside yard waste collection service to the residents of Laramie. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and a reliable, safe, and efficient operation day in and day out. We are looking to hire a qualified individual to operate refuse trucks (automated side loaders) on city streets only. The collection season runs from mid-April to mid-November (7 months) but you will have duties and responsibilities that begin roughly one to two weeks before the season begins and lasts roughly through one to two weeks past the end of the season. Predetermined routes will need to be followed and may change from week to week due to the nature of running an opt-in service. Service takes place in all types of weather, but we do not operate in winter.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive and operate a heavy refuse truck (automated side loader) safely and efficiently while following the day's route. Professionally communicate with customer service and manager for daily with logs, tasks, and other items. Assemble and deliver yard waste carts and information packets to new customers, and collect carts from customers that need to discontinue service. Empty and inspect yard waste that is deposited at the compost site. Basic maintenance of refuse trucks and yard waste carts. Maintain simple records and logs such as pre and post trip inspections, and report any route inconsistencies; complete reports as necessary. Observe safety precautions while operating large vehicles and equipment. Inspect and review condition of equipment including checking oil and water levels, brakes and lights; washing, cleaning and performing maintenance to collection equipment; filling and greasing vehicles; draining air tanks, etc. Courteous interactions with customers and potential customers (everyone).

QUALIIFICATIONS

Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (Class B minimum) is required . Some experience in heavy truck operation.

Special Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and push/pull/lift 100 pounds; exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, mechanical hazards; ability to travel to different sites and locations.
