Traffic Technician - City of Russellville The City of Russellville is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Traffic Technician to install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices that protect the traveling public. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient traffic operations throughout the city.

$36,000 Excellent benefits package, including: Health insurance Retirement (APERS) Paid holidays Vacation and sick leave Other City-provided benefits What You'll Do Install, construct, maintain, and repair traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, street lighting, and related equipment. Build and install new traffic signal systems, including conduit, poles, arms, foundations, installing wiring, wiring poles and cabinets, and setting pull boxes and assembling. Maintain and troubleshoot existing signal equipment such as detection systems, controllers, conflict monitors, pre-emption systems, and communication equipment. Install and maintain battery backup systems and uninterrupted power supplies. Apply thermoplastic, pre-formed, tape, centerline, curb, and crosswalk pavement markings using mobile paint equipment. Fabricate, install, and maintain traffic and regulatory signs, including signage for new subdivisions and 911 locations. Set up and maintain safe work zones in accordance with IMSA standards. Operate heavy and specialized equipment including trenchers, backhoes, loaders, forklifts, bucket trucks, crane trucks, and paint machines. Conduct traffic counts and speed studies using traffic counters. Perform vegetation control to ensure visibility and proper sight distance for signage and signals. Maintain inventory and assist with ordering supplies. Prioritize public safety, provide excellent customer service, and work collaboratively with City staff. Serve on an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service needs. Work safely at heights and in traffic environments. Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED, plus specialized training and/or additional college coursework. Three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of electrical principles and experience with standard control voltages (120V and 240V). Proficiency with tools and equipment including volt meters, amp meters, hand tools, drills, plotter/cutters, bucket truck, jackhammers, paint machines, torches, and standard office equipment. Strong attendance, dependability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certifications Work Zone, Signs & Pavement Markings - Level I and Traffic Signals - Level I certifications must be obtained within two (2) years of the date of hire. Application Information:
