Job Description

Job Description This position performs skilled journeyman-level trades work, focusing on the maintenance and repair of highly specialized equipment used in wastewater pump stations. Depending on the position level, the role may serve as a lead worker, providing direction and guidance to staff on proper maintenance, repair, and equipment replacement procedures. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose issues and make timely, effective decisions regarding repairs or replacements. Essential Duties Perform installations, repairs, and general maintenance in functional area. Perform preventative maintenance in functional area. Prepare materials and cost estimates for various projects within functional area. Maintain adequate level of supplies and equipment. Assist with establishing safe construction sites to include directing traffic. May serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. Other Job Requirements/Information This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications Trades Tech I:
High School diploma or GED Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Trades Tech II:
High school diploma or GED Two years of trades experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job; Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained with 12 months of employment. Valid driver's license.
Trades Tech III:
High school diploma or GED Four years of trades experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained with 12 months of employment Valid driver's license
Trades Tech IV:
High school diploma, or GED Valid driver's license. Five years of progressively responsible trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
