Signs & Markings Technician

Signs & Markings Technician Your Career, Your Community The City of Salisbury is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Signs & Markings Technician. In this role, you'll perform technical work involving the preparation, installation, and maintenance of street signs and pavement markings, while also supporting traffic control operations and maintaining related records.

Key Responsibilities:

Construct, install, and maintain traffic control signs, street name signs, and pavement markings. Conduct manual and automatic traffic counts, compile and plot results. Set up detours and work zone safety signs/equipment for traffic control. Perform annual inventory of traffic signs. Respond to citizen inquiries and complaints; resolve within scope or escalate as needed. Why Join Us? Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in traffic signs and markings, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid NC Driver's License. Ability to obtain a NC Class B Commercial Driver's License. Ability to obtain required certifications (e.g., CPR, Work Zone Safety). Must be able to perform heavy manual labor, often in extreme weather conditions. Willingness to work outside of normal hours during emergencies or on-call situations.
