Job Description

Pay begins at $57,304 annually and is dependent upon applicable experience. In addition to the base salary, this full-time position is eligible for an annual performance bonus and a longevity bonus. There are 2 vacancies available.

$25 single $150 family The Intelligent Transportation Systems Technician I ensures the safety and efficiency of the Town's transportation network. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and complex troubleshooting of traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and related infrastructure using diagnostic equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and completing service reports. Reports to Traffic Operations Manager. Performs routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and field support. Performs preventative maintenance on signal heads, poles, and cabinets. Replaces lamps, LEDs, and defective hardware. Safely operates bucket trucks and aerial lifts to access overhead equipment. Uses diagnostic tools to identify basic electrical failures and wiring issues. Responsible for
ITS Support:
Assists with basic hardware swaps for cameras and sensors; uses central management software for basic monitoring. Monitors the Centracs alerts dashboard to identify signal malfunctions, "flash" status, or communication failures in real-time. Creates and Updates status reports using Centracs to verify that intersections have successfully transitioned to "Time of Day" plans and documents any deviations for senior staff. Work safely observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and City regulations. Report any accidents immediately to supervisor. Responsible for safety & compliance on and off the work site to include: Setting up Work Zone Traffic Control (cones, signs) according to MUTCD standards and performing utility line locates for underground traffic infrastructure. Perform routine maintenance on equipment. Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
On-Call:
Participates in the emergency after-hours and weekend rotation. Conduct behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer's perception of town facility. Any other duties as assigned. Must have the following listed below or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Be at least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED. (One year of college in Electronics or Computer Tech preferred). 2 years in a traffic signal, electrical, or a related technical field. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must obtain IMSA Signal Level I certifications within one year of hire.
