SUPERVISORY WORK
None SUMMARY Under supervision, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor in the maintenance of Traffic Signs and Markings. Performs other duties as required by supervisor, including drive lead vehicle for Street Striper and or drive follow vehicle put out cones for Street Striper. This position will be required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime as necessary by the department and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Sign maintenance and installation as per MUTCD Must be dependable to work alone Writes up all signs for change out, and street markers Assist with overhead sign installation on signal post and mast arms Pavements markings as per MUTCD Must be able to read and understand work orders. Maintains and installs curb painting & island tips. Maintains crosswalks, stop bars, railroad x-ings and Arrows. Layout marking (dotting) for overlay and sealcoat streets. Driver operator for cone trailer and follow person. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A
High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred. Some experience with painting equipment power and hand tools preferred. A Valid Texas Driver's License is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to use a computer for work processing and spreadsheet purposes. Ability to use small electronic hand tools (Drill, Saw, etc.) Ability to use hand tools (Shovel, Broom, Post hole Digger, Screwdrivers, etc.) Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
