Foster City, CA -94404 Job Overview Join our innovative team as an Autonomous Vehicle Operator , where you will play a vital role in operating and overseeing cutting-edge autonomous vehicles designed for passenger transport and cargo delivery. This dynamic position combines hands-on vehicle operation with safety oversight, ensuring seamless, efficient, and secure autonomous vehicle services. You will be responsible for monitoring vehicle performance, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Responsibilities Safely operate autonomous vehicles across designated routes, including shuttle driving, route driving, and delivery runs. Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation inspections of vehicles, checking mechanical systems, sensors, and safety features to ensure optimal performance. Monitor vehicle systems during operation via onboard controls and remote diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot issues promptly. Assist with loading and unloading cargo or passengers when necessary, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks or manual handling tools. Maintain detailed logs of vehicle activity, including route adherence, operational status, and any incidents or anomalies encountered during shifts. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, maintenance personnel, and safety supervisors to coordinate operations smoothly. Follow all safety protocols related to commercial vehicle operation, heavy equipment handling, and autonomous vehicle guidelines to ensure a secure environment for all involved. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial driving roles such as shuttle driving, bus driving, freight hauling, or delivery driver experience. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in operating heavy equipment like forklifts, dump trucks, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailers. Experience with manual transmission vehicles and understanding of heavy haul or heavy equipment operation is a plus. Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with team members and supervisors. Ability to perform load & unload tasks safely using pallet jacks or other manual handling tools. Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with logistics operations enhances your ability to excel in this role. Valid driver's license appropriate for commercial vehicles; additional certifications such as CDL (Commercial Driver's License), forklift certification, or limousine driver credentials are advantageous.
