Job Description

Job Description The Gravel Train Driver is responsible for transporting gravel, dirt, and demolition debris to and from job sites safely and efficiently while adhering to all company, state, and federal transportation regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting daily demolition and construction operations by ensuring materials are delivered and disposed of properly. The ideal candidate will be an experienced CDL Class A driver with a strong commitment to safety, dependability, and teamwork.

What you'll do: Operate gravel train trucks to transport gravel, dirt, and demolition debris to and from job sites, landfills, and yards. Complete all deliveries safely, efficiently, and on schedule while following traffic laws and company procedures. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks such as fluids and tire pressure. Load and unload materials safely, ensuring that all loads are properly secured for transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, project managers, and site supervisors to coordinate routes and schedules. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and any delays or mechanical issues. Follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, along with company safety standards. Wear required PPE and maintain a professional and safety-conscious attitude at all times. Assist with proper material disposal and support other project needs as directed. What you'll need: Valid CDL Class A driver's license with a clean driving record and valid CDL med card. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating gravel trains or similar heavy-duty trucks. Experience in construction or demolition transportation is preferred. Knowledge of local roads, routes, and safety regulations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with supervisors and team members. Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and identify mechanical issues. High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety. Physical ability to load/unload materials and work in varying weather conditions.
