Job Description:
The Elevator Operator plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and courteous transportation of guests, staff, performers, and equipment prior to, during, and after events at The Egg. This position requires professionalism, patience, and strong communication skills to create a welcoming and organized environment. About The Egg The Egg, which houses a 980-seat and a 440-seat theater, is owned by the State of New York and managed by the not-for-profit Nelson A. Rockefeller "Empire State Plaza Performing Arts Center Corporation". Through partnerships and collaborations with the community and promoters, The Egg presents performances, spotlights emerging artists, fosters relationships with resident companies, and enhances activities in cultural and arts education. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: Operate elevators safely and efficiently during events. Provide clear and courteous assistance to patrons. Direct guests to theaters, lobbies, and amenities. Maintain safe capacity and orderly flow within elevators. Assist guests with accessibility needs. Communicate with Front of House staff regarding traffic flow. Report mechanical or safety concerns promptly. Follow all safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Qualities Desired:
Previous guest service experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Schedule:
