Job Description

Guest Services Supervisor The Erie Zoo Train Driver helps to maintain our Chance locomotive and track, gives rides to guests of all ages while narrating some of the highlights of Erie Zoo. The Train Driver schedule is anticipated to be Sunday-Wednesday with some evening hours to support our special events. ¨ Use a checklist to check locomotives and cars for safety and for any repairs needed. ¨ Cleans locomotive and cars to ensure our guests enjoy a pleasant ride experience. ¨ Responsible for walking the entire length of the rail track to ensure that rail track is correctly spaced, in good repair, and free of debris. ¨ Performs minor daily preventative maintenance on locomotive, including fluid levels -and reports any repairs needed to Facilities team. ¨ Performs general maintenance on tracks and/or assists Facilities team with spacing track and/or repairs to train track. ¨ Responsible for collecting guest tickets and verifying date on tickets. ¨ Assist guests in boarding and exiting the train cars. Provides additional assistance for guests with mobility challenges. ¨ Provides top-notch guest service to all guests who ride the train. ¨ Talks through a speaker while driving the train, giving riders highlights of the zoo and pointing out exhibits and other features of
Erie Zoo Education/experience:
Prior experience in guest service or hospitality is helpful, as is some general maintenance experience.
Work environment:
The Train Driver performs work primarily in an outdoor environment which is largely unsheltered and has frequent exposure to inclement weather. Successful candidate should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and walk up to one mile per day. Weekend and evening availability are required for this role.

$10.00 per hour
