Senior Signal / Train Control Expert you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budgetMissions/Main Duties Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors regarding technical requirements and project design changes
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on interlockings and the review of the interlocking hardware design, application logic and software for microprocessor-based systems
- Check and certify design documents, simulation testing and final test dossiers prior to client handover
- Perform / oversee lab and field Verification & Validation (V&V) testing, including wayside/signaling equipment, CBTC and interlockings
- Responsible for interpreting, analyzing, and validating complex railway track plans including route and aspect charts, control tables, track circuits and interlocking diagrams to ensure safe signaling operations during testing
- Interpret interlocking (IxL) logic, signal layouts, and track circuits for maintenance, testing and construction purposes Does this seem like an opportunity that you can be all aboard with in your career?
Profile/Skills Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Science or related field from an ABET-accredited program
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience, specifically within the transit, freight rail or heavy civil infrastructure sectors
- Deep understanding of railway signaling principles (route locking, switch point detection, and signal aspect sequences), Solid State Interlockings (SSIs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and familiar with the federal regulations (FRA) along with industry standards (AREMA) regarding rail safety and automated train control
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams for large scale rail infrastructure projects (design, construction management, or maintenance)
- Experience with large scale brownfield Transit/Railroad projects
- Experience with CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) / PTC (Positive Train Control) / ATC (Automatic Train Control) systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, not required
