Track Maintenance - Grounds (Seasonal)

Duties & Responsibilities Maintain racetrack surfaces (dirt, turf, or synthetic) through grading, watering, harrowing, rolling, and debris removal. Assist with preparation of the racing surface and surrounding areas for scheduled races and morning training. Perform routine maintenance of lawns, turf, landscaped areas, paddocks, barn exteriors, and parking areas. Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as tractors, mowers, graders, water trucks, and hand tools. Inspect grounds and surfaces for safety hazards; promptly report or correct unsafe conditions. Assist with irrigation systems, drainage maintenance, and seasonal weather preparation. Support setup and breakdown for race days, special events, and emergency situations. Follow all safety procedures, track rules, and regulatory requirements applicable to horse racing facilities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment storage, and maintenance yards. Perform related duties as assigned to support overall facility operations.

Competencies:

Ability to safely operate heavy and light maintenance machinery. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards

Work Environment:

Outdoor racetrack and stable environments with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, animals, and changing weather conditions. Fast‑paced environment requiring adherence to racing schedules and safety protocols.
