Job Description

Apprentice Transmission Technician / MechanicJob Overview Join our dynamic team as an Apprentice Transmission Technician and kick-start your career in automotive repair. This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience working alongside seasoned technicians while developing essential skills in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, transmission repair, and driveline systems. You will gain exposure to a wide range of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical components, and mechanical assemblies while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of customer vehicles. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to grow into a C-Level or B-Level transmission technician within a dealership environment. Duties & Responsibilities Assist experienced transmission technicians with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs Learn to diagnose drivability and transmission concerns using factory scan tools and electronic diagnostic equipment Support removal, teardown, repair, and installation of transmission assemblies and related components Assist with repairs involving engines, driveline systems, suspension, and electrical systems Perform routine maintenance services including fluid exchanges, filter replacements, and cooler line flushing Help complete alignment procedures and wheel balancing as needed Participate in diesel engine and powertrain repairs under supervision Use hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and welding tools safely and effectively Maintain a clean and organized work area while following dealership safety procedures Properly document repair orders and communicate findings with team leaders and advisors Qualifications & Skills Basic mechanical knowledge with a strong interest in automotive repair and transmission systems Candidate should possess more than entry-level knowledge; ideal applicant will have C-Level experience or progressing toward B-Level capability Familiarity with automotive electrical systems and schematics is a plus Dealership experience preferred but not required Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology is beneficial Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Understanding of general vehicle maintenance including brake repairs, fluid services, and inspections Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn Ability to follow detailed instructions and work methodically on complex repairs Valid driver's license required Must have basic automotive tools What We Offer Paid hands-on apprenticeship program Ongoing factory and dealership training opportunities Mentorship from experienced transmission and driveline technicians Opportunity for career advancement within the dealership Fast-paced, team-oriented work environment Exposure to advanced GM automotive technology and diagnostics If you are passionate about automotive repair, eager to expand your skills, and ready to build a long-term career in the industry, we would love to hear from you.d setting, we want to hear from you!
