Hallcon works with various Class 1 and Short Line Railroads to staff both temporary and permanent conductor positions across the country. As a conductor for a freight railroad, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of train services. Your expertise will help deliver seamless travel experiences for passengers and freight, maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital transportation network while working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Duties Operate trains in accordance with established safety protocols, schedules, and operational procedures Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, including mechanical checks and safety systems verification Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including air brake systems and other safety standards Communicate effectively with dispatchers, crew members, and station personnel to coordinate train movements Monitor train operations continuously, responding promptly to any issues or emergencies Maintain detailed logs of trips, inspections, and incidents to ensure accurate record-keeping Assist in training new conductors and crew members on operational procedures and safety practices Experience Proven experience operating heavy equipment or rail vehicles with mechanical knowledge of train systems Certification as a Train Conductor from an accredited program is required Knowledge of air brake systems and other train safety mechanisms is essential Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance procedures is a plus Strong understanding of safety regulations related to rail transportation and mechanical systems Join us as a Certified Train Conductor and become an integral part of a dedicated team committed to safe, reliable transit.
