Overview Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Technician specializing in heavy equipment and vehicle repair within a bustling transportation hub. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of a wide range of machinery and vehicles essential to our operations. Your expertise will keep our fleet and equipment running smoothly, supporting efficient transit services and infrastructure maintenance. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Conduct mechanical repairs such as transmission servicing, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system maintenance. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, HVAC systems, electrical components, and vehicle transmissions. Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and perform heavy lifting safely to complete maintenance tasks efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, complete repair logs, and ensure compliance with safety standards such as air brake testing and alignment procedures. Assist with fabrication tasks and assembly of equipment or vehicle parts as needed for ongoing projects or repairs. Support customer service efforts by providing timely updates on repair status and ensuring high-quality workmanship. Experience Proven experience working with dealership or industrial machinery, including heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, or tractor-trailers. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, and tire service. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics and repair using schematics and technical manuals. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering for various repair tasks. Background in vehicle maintenance involving diesel engines, air brakes, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and general automotive repair. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections. Customer service experience is a plus—able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding maintenance needs.
