6:45am-315pm, 3:00 pm-11:00 pm, 11:00pm to 7:00am

Every Other or as scheduled Position Objective The Apprenticeship Engineer is responsible for performing maintenance, repair and plant operation duties as assigned. This position will repair or correct malfunctioning hospital equipment as needed. The position also will do snow/ice removal/grounds maintenance. The work environment of the Apprenticeship Engineer involves exposures to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of safety equipment. This position's work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperature, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Essential Responsibilities The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. Work is diversified and requires initiative, utilizing general guidelines and direction to complete various duties of the position Frequent contact with all departments of the hospital, doctors, and business affiliates Assist the Engineering Director in compiling data for Quality Assurance reports and/or information requested by the Safety Committee Conduct fire drills on varying shifts and report the details Work on a variety of reports dealing with the operation of various equipment in different areas of the hospital Track and record dates and time of completed work on work orders Other Responsibilities Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, vision, values, policies and procedures Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability Union Position No Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent Ability to acquire Special Engineer License within 160 days of employment Preferred Qualifications Engineers will have a good understanding of repair maintenance and general maintenance of equipment
