Automotive Instructor, Part-Time 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars Salary $34.00 Hourly Location Hickory, NC Job Type Part-time Job Number PT_22_Auto Department Industrial Technologies Opening Date 04/19/2022 Closing Date Continuous Description Provide instruction in the Automotive Systems Technology program to prepare students to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Includes instruction in brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains, and heating and air condition systems, and related topics according to ASE Education Foundation guidelines. Teaching schedules may include day, evening or weekend depending on the applicants availability and course offerings. Contribute to the Automotive Program at the College and Campus level and help place students within the industry. Examples of Duties Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning. Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate. Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs. Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success. Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning. Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Areas of instruction will prepare students to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Includes instruction in brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains, and heating and air condition systems, and related topics according to ASE Education Foundation guidelines. Qualifications Master ASE certification, including G.1 and L.1 required. Diploma or AAS Degree in Automotive preferred Minimum 5 years experience as an automotive technician required. Supplemental Information All adjunct positions are contingent upon enrollment needs and funding. All employees paid by direct deposit. Copies of all unofficial degree transcripts, including coursework completed and degree conferred, must be provided during the on-line application process. Official transcripts are required to be forwarded to the CVCC Human Resources Office upon hire.
