Role Summary Located in Demming, NM, 88030, we are looking for a committed Welder Mechanic Carman to support our operations. You will be instrumental in the upkeep and restoration of our fleet, which is vital for our daily efficiency. We invite candidates who possess a strong mechanical aptitude and welding expertise, paired with a dedication to high-quality work and safety standards, to join our team. Core Duties Execute various fabrication and welding assignments on diverse structures and parts. Carry out regular upkeep and fix rail cars and associated machinery to ensure operational reliability. Identify mechanical malfunctions and execute successful repairs. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all safety protocols. Keep precise documentation regarding all completed tasks and utilized supplies. Work alongside colleagues to enhance overall workflow and productivity. Support the development of new staff members by sharing knowledge of mechanical and welding procedures. Required Skills and Experience Completion of high school or a GED; a technical credential in mechanics or welding is a plus. Demonstrated background in mechanical and welding work, ideally within automotive or rail settings. Solid understanding of mechanical systems and various welding methods. Capacity to analyze and comprehend technical illustrations and blueprints. Strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality outcomes. Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills. Flexibility to accommodate varying shifts and overtime requirements.
